Summer Courses · 2027
Get ahead this summer with MindSpark Tutors.
MindSpark Tutors is excited to offer 6-week summer preview courses that help students build confidence and strengthen foundational skills before the school year begins.
Rather than replicate an entire year-long class, each course builds a strong foundation. Core topics and prerequisite skills are taught in depth so students start the year ready to succeed, while more advanced topics are introduced in a survey format — so key concepts and terminology feel familiar by the time they appear in class.
By the end of the program, students will have a stronger academic foundation, more confidence, and a real head start on what they’ll see in the fall.

Chemistry Preview
Our Chemistry Preview introduces the fundamentals that form the backbone of high school and AP Chemistry. Students build a strong understanding of scientific notation, dimensional analysis, unit conversions, atomic structure, periodic trends, chemical bonding, and molecular geometry, then move into chemical reactions, balancing equations, stoichiometry, solutions, gas laws, and thermochemistry. By the end, students approach chemistry with confidence — and a stronger conceptual framework to build on once the school year starts.

TJ AP CS Preview
Our TJ AP Computer Science Preview gives students a head start in Java. Students learn Java fundamentals while sharpening the logical thinking and problem-solving skills that programming demands, with extra emphasis on the data structures covered at TJ. Along the way, they become familiar with the AP curriculum and exam-style questions, so the fall course feels like familiar ground.

Physics Preview
Our Physics Preview builds the core intuition students need for high school physics. Starting with units, vectors, and motion graphs, students work through kinematics, projectile motion, Newton’s Laws, and free-body diagrams, then explore conservation of energy, momentum and collisions, and an introduction to rotational motion.

AP Calculus Preview
Our AP Calculus Preview strengthens the precalculus foundations — functions, trigonometry, logarithms, and exponentials — that calculus depends on. Students then learn limits, continuity, derivatives, and integrals in depth, and apply them to optimization, related rates, and motion. Later and BC topics are introduced more broadly so nothing in the fall feels brand new.

02General information
How the program works.
Course Schedule
Each course meets on Zoom for 6 weeks, twice a week, in 2-hour sessions.
Every course also includes 1 weekly office hour where students can ask questions, get extra practice, and review challenging concepts.
Session Structure
Each session comes with pre-reading and homework. Both are optional but highly recommended — they make the most of every class.
During sessions, students answer questions, take part in class activities, solve problems, and more.
Group Learning
Summer classes have 2–4 students, depending on interest. If there isn’t sufficient interest, a course may have to be cancelled.
Private Tutoring
We offer 1-on-1 private tutoring, but private classes are prioritized for subjects we don’t offer as a group course.
Referrals
If a family signs up for a course and names you as a referral, you both receive a $100 discount.
Makeups & Holidays
Make-up sessions may be offered the week after a course ends, in addition to office hours. All generally recognized holidays are off, and sessions that land on those days will be rescheduled.
03Course pricing
Small groups, big attention.
Course pricing is determined by final enrollment and group size.
Semi-private
2 students
$1325 per student
~30% less than standard private tutoring rates, based on total instructional and office hours.
Small Group
3–4 students
$1025 per student
~45% less than standard private tutoring rates, based on total instructional and office hours.
1-on-1
Private tutoring
Varies by tutor & subject
1-on-1 pricing varies by tutor and subject — email us for details.
Enrollment & payment
To make sure every student receives meaningful individual attention, all courses are limited to 2–4 students.
Enrollment is finalized shortly before courses begin. Depending on final enrollment, a course may run as a semi-private group (2 students) or a small group (3–4 students). Families will be notified of the final group size and pricing before the program starts. For popular courses, we distribute students evenly into groups with different tutors to keep class sizes small and schedules consistent.
A non-refundable $150 deposit reserves a spot upon enrollment, and the remaining balance is due 4 days before the course starts. No refunds are granted after payment is complete, barring extenuating circumstances as determined by the co-founders.
Referral policy
$100 off for you both.
